Xinyi Zhang is a senior counselor who offers college counseling to Chinese and American Chinese high school students. Every year, she works with Chinese and American families to help students acclimate and excel. In her role, Xinyi has mentored over 100 students who have then gone to prestigious institutions, such as Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, and Johns Hopkins University. As a counselor, she encourages students to take initiative, interact with the world, and navigate their path as responsible global citizens.
Moving to the US as a teenager in 2008, Xinyi considers herself a beneficiary of international cultural exchanges. She received her undergraduate degree in History from Mount Holyoke College and her graduate degree in Sports Management from Columbia University. At the undergraduate level, Xinyi received multiple research scholarships and completed several research projects on topics of nationalism, cultural identity, and citizenship. She is the co-founder of a New England-based history group, China in Letters, where students from local schools, including Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, and Harvard University come together to study primary documents (letters) from the 1980s in China. At Columbia University, Xinyi co-founded SPORiT, a sports education service provider to bring sports business education to millions of Chinese graduates and retired athletes.
