Jeffrey Gee Chin breathes life into the untold stories of immigrant pioneers across the globe.
His works have screened with the U.S. State Department, in the Walt Disney Family Museum,
on ABC’s Good Morning America, and SFGovTV.
He is best known for his first narrative short film "Lil Tokyo Reporter" which stars Academy
Award-Winner Chris Tashima as Civil Rights Leader Sei Fujii. The film breathes life into 1930’s
Los Angeles and the journey of a Japanese newspaperman who fights corruption within his own
community. The film won over 21 awards and earned Academy-Qualification and was accepted
into Cannes Short Film Corner. Jeffrey also led several projects to honor Fujii’s legacy by
building a Memorial Lantern, Historic Designations, a Posthumous Law License, and an award-
winning Biography. “A Rebel’s Outcry” biography won two gold medal prizes from the
91 st California Book Awards and the 26 th Independent Publisher’s Book Awards; and honorable
mention with Writer’s Digest.
Jeffrey understudied late Director John Singleton, working on commercials, and television
shows “Billions” (Showtime) and “Snowfall” (FX). As a feature and commercial director, Jeffrey
worked with Sam’s Club, AECOM, Mattel, and Spotify & BLACKPINK.
Currently, Jeffrey is developing a graphic novel and next feature film.
